ANNOUNCING FR101: Building a Community with Your Friends
a class for people who dream of living near their friends
TL;DR
I’m hosting a donation-based in-person class in September and October in NYC. Apply here.
I’m hosting a free e-seminar with my friend Phil next Wednesday. Register here. [UPDATE: If you missed it, you can watch the recording here!]
FR101: Building a Community with Your Friends
Has your friend group been fantasizing about buying property together? Do you miss living on a campus? Do you wish your best friend lived down the street from you?
In this class, you’ll learn how to build a community among your friends, their friends, and acquaintances who you’d like to befriend. You’ll learn how to coordinate your community to live near each other. You’ll learn about various models of co-locating, and study examples of what worked.
This is a practical, hands-on class, and homework will include hosting regularly (which is a key step in convincing your friends to move nearby).
Location: *in person* — East Williamsburg.
Time: Saturdays 11 am - 1 pm in September and October*
* No class on September 30
Cost: Sliding scale donations from $30 - $300
Refer your (girl)friends: I’ve been so excited by the supportive applications for FR101 so far! I’m amazed at how multi-talented you all are. That said, the applicants have been overwhelmingly men, and I’d like this class to seed many diverse community-building projects. I would really appreciate if you sent any women you know who are interested in building community (like me!) my way.
Application: Apply here! Applications technically close tomorrow, so apply ASAP. That being said, I am continuing to review applications on a rolling basis, and you should hear back within a few days of submitting your application.
I’ll see you in class!

P.S. This class is part of Fractal University. There are a few other classes on offer this semester, I’d recommend checking them out!
